Riverdale School Musical

What is a musical? A musical is a performance that combines song, spoken dialogue, acting, and dance to tell a story. 

What will my child do? 1st, 2nd and 3rd grade students will sing, dance, and act their way through a 6 scene musical. Students will create pieces of their costume during rehearsals and work with our volunteers to present an entertaining performance for your entire family (and our school).

Performance: We will present one show for families on Wednesday, December 18th at 6pm. Tickets are $5/person with a $20 cap per family for each show. 

Schedule (see below): We will meet on Monday/Thursday. Please make sure you can commit to this schedule. The policy will be on a student to student basis but shall not exceed 3 total missed rehearsals.

LEAP Students:  Students who attend after school care at LEAP will go to rehearsal and then be dismissed over to LEAP

Fee: The cost of this program will be $80. This includes all rehearsals, and a show t-shirt. All checks are due October 23rd. Checks should be made payable to the Town of Dedham (financial assistance is available).

Costumes: We will provide the outer layer of your child’s costume. Students will be making elements of their costume during rehearsal time. You will be asked only to provide a bottom layer which is typically black pants/black shirt and quite possibly some accessories including kitchen items.  Please use items you already own for this and do not purchase anything. Details will follow.

Attendance Policy:  Students may miss a limited amount of dates with notice. The policy will be on a student to student basis but shall not exceed 3 total missed rehearsals.

Expectations: Riverdale School rules and behaviors are expected during this after school activity. If unexpected behaviors continue after three rehearsals students will be asked to not continue.
